Rank Launches 3 New Financial Products to Empower Nigerian Communities

Quick Read:

Nigerian fintech Rank has rolled out three new community-powered financial products, Money Circles, Tribe and Rank Perks, giving young Africans access to zero-interest capital and modernising age-old group savings traditions.

Nigerian fintech startup Rank has gone big on community banking, launching three new community-powered financial products built to knock down the structural barriers that keep young Africans from building wealth.

The Y Combinator-backed company, formerly known as Moni before its November 2025 rebrand, unveiled Money Circles, Tribe, and Rank Perks as its latest offerings. The launch builds on a strong run for the startup, which has paid out over $100 million to users across various savings communities in the past year alone.

Money Circles brings a safer, digitised twist to familiar group savings models like Ajo, Esusu, and ROSCAs. Members join a circle, commit to monthly contributions, and receive a lump-sum payout when their turn comes around, all for a fixed service fee rather than interest.

Tribe takes a more personal approach, letting users create private financial groups with family, friends, or colleagues to hit shared money goals or run their own rotating savings arrangements.

Rank Perks, meanwhile, plugs financial wellness straight into payroll. Employers can offer staff salary-backed credit and company-wide savings circles, with repayments and contributions deducted automatically from verified salary data — cutting out predatory lenders and awkward HR advance requests.

“For generations, Africans have relied on communal financial structures to build wealth and acquire assets. We are bringing these trusted traditions into the modern age,” said Femi Iromini, CEO and co-founder of Rank, adding that the goal is to give young Africans “the collective leverage they need to outpace inflation and securely build long-term equity.”

Alongside these flagship community-powered financial products, Rank is also rolling out everyday banking tools, including a basic transaction account, in-app digital handles, and flexible or locked savings options.

The launch comes off the back of Rank’s rebrand and acquisition of AjoMoney and Zazzau MFB, part of a broader strategy to position itself as an integrated wealth platform spanning RankApp, Rank Capital, and Rank Microfinance Bank.
