Apple Ultra Rumours Point to a Massive Product Year

Apple is expanding its Ultra branding beyond the Apple Watch. This new push could include a foldable iPhone and a MacBook with an OLED touchscreen. It may also extend to the iPad and AirPods.
Foldable iPhone and MacBook Ultra Lead the Shift.
The iPhone is the centrepiece. Apple reportedly plans to unveil a foldable iPhone in September. Sources familiar with Apple’s plans say the company is preparing to expand the Ultra name. The new flagship could arrive this fall.
The Apple Ultra story does not stop at the iPhone. Rumours suggest Apple is working on a MacBook Ultra. Expected features include an OLED display and touchscreen support. The laptop may also feature a Dynamic Island.
Other rumours point to M6 Pro and M6 Max chips. Apple may build them using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. The MacBook Ultra could also be thinner. It may even include built-in cellular connectivity.
If Mark Gurman’s predictions hold, the MacBook Ultra will become Apple’s top-tier laptop. It will sit above the current MacBook Pro lineup. It will not replace the existing models.
There is a catch. Apple reportedly planned to release the MacBook Ultra later this year. However, a recent RAM supply shortage may cause delays. The launch could shift to the first half of 2027.
iPad Ultra, AirPods, and Smart Glasses Could Follow
The Ultra expansion may not end there. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple is prioritising a larger iPad. The device could also be foldable. Reports link the project to Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus.
An iPad Ultra would likely be more expensive. It would also be more experimental.
Apple may also extend Ultra branding to AirPods. A high-end version with built-in cameras is already being rumoured.
Apple is also developing smart glasses. Reports suggest Apple is testing several designs. Some resemble Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Others look slimmer, like the frames Tim Cook wears. They are said to use premium acetate materials.
The Apple Ultra iPhone MacBook story points to something bigger. It signals a shift in strategy. Apple is betting on a new premium product tier. And it is shaping the next decade around devices that do not exist yet.
