Lucis Raises Series A to Scale Preventative Health Testing Across Europe
Paris-based healthtech startup Lucis has closed a new Series A funding round, building on the momentum of its $8.5 million seed raise to push its AI-driven preventative health testing deeper into the European market. The seed round, which preceded this latest raise, was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Y Combinator, Kima Ventures, Motier Ventures, Circle.Co, and North South Ventures. The company has now raised a total of $12 million, according to startup tracking data.
What Lucis Actually Does
Founded in 2025 by Maxime Berthelot, Baptiste Debever, and Max Guerois, Lucis offers preventive health check-ups carried out in certified medical laboratories. The platform tracks over 180 biomarkers covering everything from cardiovascular and metabolic health to hormones, inflammation, and kidney function monitored every six to twelve months. Rather than acting as a replacement for doctors, the company offers two in-depth health check-ups per year, built around blood tests and urine and saliva samples, analysed through an AI-supported platform and reviewed by clinicians.
Instead of handing users confusing PDFs, members receive practical guidance focused on five areas: nutrition, supplements, physical activity, sleep and recovery, and mental health. The goal is spotting warning signs before symptoms appear, not after.
CEO Maxime Berthelot said the mission is to empower individuals to take ownership of their health by giving them a clear view of key indicators before symptoms even appear, providing practical guidance without replacing physicians.
Lucis has completed 500,000 tests for 3,000 users across France, the UK, Ireland, and Portugal in just one year a striking pace for a company still in its early stages.
Fresh capital from the Series A will be used to scale preventative health testing across more European markets, widen its laboratory and clinician network, and develop its AI analysis platform further. Lucis addresses the reactive nature of traditional healthcare by providing accessible, comprehensive preventive care at a fraction of the cost of private longevity clinics.
