RemotePass Raises $17.4M Series B to Scale Global Payroll Fintech

UAE-founded workforce and payments platform RemotePass has closed a $17.4 million Series B funding round, signalling a sharp escalation in the race to dominate global payroll fintech infrastructure. The round was led by EBRD Venture Capital, with participation from 500 Global, Oraseya Capital, 212 VC, Access Bridge Ventures, Khwarizmi Ventures, BECO Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, and Wamda Capital.

Built for the Markets Others Ignored

Unlike Western incumbents that have historically struggled to build deep localized roots in complex regulatory jurisdictions, RemotePass has spent five years fine-tuning its payment rails and infrastructure across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), operating natively with 24/7 Arabic and English customer support and navigating specialized local labor frameworks.

That regional depth is paying off. The business has scaled to support more than 35,000 workers across over 150 countries, facilitating more than $800 million in cross-border payroll transactions and it did so while reaching net profitability in early 2025, a rare milestone in a sector notorious for cash burn.

For workers dealing with currency volatility and inflation, the platform provides access to USD accounts, physical and digital global debit cards, and premium health insurance, giving contractors corporate-grade financial stability. Clients tapping into this global payroll fintech infrastructure include regional names like Tabby and Careem, as well as multinationals such as Logitech, Tata Group, and InDrive.

The fresh capital will fund aggressive commercial expansion into Europe and the United States, alongside deeper localized compliance updates. RemotePass has also deployed autonomous AI agents for onboarding, compliance logic, and customer support, and launched SpendCards collapsing contractor payments, payroll, and corporate expense management into one unified workspace.

Amine Chabane, principal at EBRD Venture Capital, noted that RemotePass had reached meaningful scale on a fraction of the capital others in the category had raised a signal of disciplined execution.
