New Relic AI Now Connects Directly With AWS Kiro for Faster Coding
New Relic AI has taken a big step forward. At AWS Summit New York City, the company unveiled a fresh integration that links its AI tools directly to Kiro, the agentic coding platform from AWS. As a result, developers can now see live production data without ever leaving their coding environment.
So, why does this matter? Today, most AI coding assistants work in isolation. They don’t see what’s happening in production. Consequently, bugs and performance issues often slip through, and teams discover them too late, usually after code has already shipped.
New Relic AI aims to fix that gap. The new integration connects New Relic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server with Kiro using a single click. Because of this, engineers can pull live metrics, logs, traces, and events straight into their workflow. Furthermore, they can do all this using plain, natural language.
Brian Emerson, Chief Product Officer at New Relic, explained the thinking behind the launch. According to Emerson, organizations need a safe way to merge AI coding agents with real business data. Therefore, the company built a one-click bridge between AWS’s development environment and New Relic’s operational insights.
In practical terms, this means engineering teams can now catch problems before they happen, rather than after. Specifically, AI-generated code gets checked against real specs before it ever reaches production. This way, teams move fast without breaking things downstream.
Notably, the launch also marks a bigger milestone. New Relic’s partnership with AWS has now crossed $1 billion in lifetime transactions through the AWS Marketplace. This achievement reflects years of joint work helping enterprise customers modernize their systems.
