The integration relies on a new zero-exposure security framework. Instead of exposing passwords, 1Password securely injects approved credentials directly into websites. Meanwhile, users must approve every login request with a biometric prompt before Claude proceeds. Afterwards, 1Password scans the webpage to ensure no credentials remain exposed before returning browser control to the AI.
The feature was tested by allowing Claude to complete tasks that required account logins. These included shopping, managing subscriptions, and accessing online accounts. Security experts still caution that AI agents can make mistakes or become targets of prompt injection attacks. Even so, the new system limits Claude’s access to only the credentials approved for each specific task.
