AVEVA–Snowflake AI Integration Cuts Pipeline Work to Hours

AVEVA–Snowflake AI Integration Cuts Pipeline Work to Hours

Industrial companies have spent years managing a painful split: operational technology that runs the plant, and information technology that runs the business. Getting those two data worlds to talk cleanly has taken months of integration work and expensive pipeline infrastructure. That problem now has a direct answer. AVEVA has announced a collaboration with Snowflake to unify IT and OT data without the pipelines and without duplicating the data at all.

What the AVEVA–Snowflake AI Integration Does

The collaboration establishes a direct, zero-copy integration between CONNECT, AVEVA’s industrial intelligence platform, and Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud, enabling customers to securely access, analyse, and activate industrial and enterprise data without the need for complex data pipelines or costly integration projects.

This marks a shift from traditional data movement and pipeline-heavy architectures to a modern data-sharing approach that simplifies access, reduces technical debt, and enables faster, more scalable industrial AI adoption. Zero-copy means the data does not move. Instead, CONNECT reads Snowflake data in place.

Through this collaboration, joint customers inherit Snowflake’s full governance stack, including column-level security, dynamic data masking, object tagging, and fine-grained access controls, helping customers ensure that operational data shared across IT and OT boundaries meets the compliance requirements of regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, energy, and manufacturing.

AVEVA–Snowflake AI: From Months to Hours

This approach helps organisations reduce time-to-value from months to hours, while maintaining enterprise-grade governance, security, and scalability without unnecessary data duplication. Rob McGreevy, Chief Product Officer at AVEVA, put the need plainly: “Industrial customers need fast, secure access to trusted data across operational, engineering, and enterprise domains to support decision-making at scale.”

With access to trusted, high-quality datasets in the cloud, organisations can deploy AI agents that reason across operational, enterprise, and external data sources to drive real-time decision-making. Snowflake Cortex AI enables joint customers to build intelligent systems that go beyond traditional thresholds.

The Broader AVEVA World 2026 Context

The AVEVA–Snowflake partnership was announced at AVEVA World 2026 in Milan from May 19 to 21, 2026. At the same event, AVEVA also unveiled collaborations with AWS and ServiceNow. In addition, the company signed a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS to accelerate cloud-based industrial intelligence.

Together, these partnerships create a direct, zero-copy integration that allows customers to securely analyse industrial data without building complex and costly pipelines. As a result, organisations can reduce technical debt, accelerate industrial AI adoption, and scale data-driven operations more efficiently. Furthermore, the collaboration creates a foundation for continuous innovation, giving customers access to the latest advances in industrial software, data analytics, and AI.

Meanwhile, Snowflake brings significant scale to the partnership, serving more than 13,300 customers, including hundreds of the world’s largest companies. Likewise, AVEVA supports more than 90% of leading industrial enterprises worldwide.

Consequently, the overlap between these customer bases represents some of the most complex data integration challenges in the global economy. By removing key barriers to data access and analysis, the partnership gives joint customers a faster and more practical path to industrial AI.
