During high-level talks, Ethio Telecom Chief Executive Officer Frehiwot Tamru and Huawei Northern Africa President Li Shen agreed to deepen cooperation across several technology sectors. The companies plan to co-develop industry-specific digital solutions powered by AI, Internet of Things, cloud services, data centres, and advanced connectivity. They also aim to improve access to affordable smart devices, helping more individuals and businesses participate in Ethiopia’s growing digital economy.
The expanded partnership also places strong emphasis on digital inclusion. Meanwhile, both companies pledged to work together on digital literacy, rural connectivity, community empowerment, and sustainable technology infrastructure. They will also increase collaboration on customer education and marketing to encourage wider adoption of services such as Telebirr and enterprise digital platforms.
