Framer AI Agents are now live, and they work differently from every AI design tool before them. Amsterdam-based Framer launched the feature today, June 16, 2026. This feature brings AI directly onto the canvas where real websites are built and published. This is not a prototype generator or a code export tool. Agents work inside live Framer projects, making every edit native, editable, and ready to ship.

Most AI design tools hand users a static output they cannot easily modify without writing code. Framer, however, built its Agents to work more like a collaborator. Users can ask an Agent to draft a layout, jump in to adjust the details themselves, and then hand control back whenever speed matters again. According to Framer’s official launch announcement, co-founder and CEO Koen Bok described it this way: Agents work more like a senior designer would, directly on the canvas, taking turns with you until the site feels right.

Furthermore, Agents cover the full website workflow. They can build new pages, generate layouts, update copy, manage CMS content, add SEO metadata and alt text, build code components, and audit for broken links or accessibility issues. Real companies are already using this at scale. Perplexity built their entire site with zero developers. Meanwhile, Superhuman now completes 85 percent of site work through design and marketing teams alone, no engineering required.

Additionally, Framer introduced External Agents to connect tools users already rely on, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI, directly into the Framer environment. Branching makes this practical for production sites by letting teams run Agent changes in a separate branch first. Teams can compare versions and only publish when satisfied, without touching the live site. Beyond these features, Framer also launched a new Community platform where creators can share work, enter contests, and sell through the Marketplace. Framer paid creators $6.5 million directly in 2025 and takes no cut. As reported by Business Wire, Framer now serves 188,000 companies across 200 countries, a figure that grew 14x in just 12 months.
