Lagos to Pitch Fintech Dominance to Global Investors at Invest Lagos 3.0

Lagos is making its fintech dominance the centrepiece of its pitch to global investors at the Invest Lagos 3.0 summit, holding June 8–9, 2026. The Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem, disclosed the strategy during an appearance on The Coffee Table podcast, saying the summit will focus sharply on sectors where Lagos already holds a competitive edge fintech, e-commerce, and the creative economy.

From Deal Books to Real Deals

“Our unique selling point is going to be focused on fintech and technology,” she said, describing these as the state’s primary attraction for international capital. Lagos hosts the headquarters of Nigeria’s biggest unicorns and remains the undisputed nerve centre of Africa’s digital finance industry, making the Lagos fintech dominance narrative one that carries real weight with investors.

The summit marks a strategic evolution from its predecessors. Invest Lagos 1.0 focused on showcasing investment opportunities through a structured deal book, while the second edition introduced dedicated deal rooms for due diligence and negotiations.

The 2026 edition designed to go further converting investor interest into signed commitments. Afreximbank and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council are confirmed summit partners, alongside expected appearances from AfCFTA Secretary-General Wamkele Mene, the Vice President of Nigeria, and several state governors.
