Hugging Face and GitHub Founders Back Zaro’s $5.1m AI Agent Raise
London’s AI agent scene is pulling serious heavyweight attention. Zaro, a London-based Zaro AI agent startup that enables businesses to build custom AI agents, has closed a $5.1 million seed round led by Cherry Ventures, with angel backing from Thomas Wolf, co-founder of Hugging Face, and Thomas Dohmke, founder of GitHub.
The round signals growing confidence in enterprise-grade AI agent infrastructure, particularly from founders who have built the very platforms that underpin today’s AI development ecosystem. Wolf, who serves as Chief Science Officer at Hugging Face, and Dohmke, who recently launched his own AI developer platform Entire after departing GitHub, both bring strategic credibility well beyond their capital.
Backing Built From the Inside Out
Zaro’s pitch centres on giving companies the tools to build and deploy AI agents that handle complex workflows without the customisation barriers that plague off-the-shelf solutions. The startup has also brought on Lovable’s former growth advisor, adding go-to-market firepower to a team already focused on product depth.
The Zaro AI agent startup enters the market at a moment when enterprise adoption of AI agents is accelerating sharply. Investor appetite across Europe for AI infrastructure companies has intensified in 2026, with the regional AI market projected to exceed $19 billion this year. Cherry Ventures, known for early-stage bets across European deep tech, leads a round that sits at the intersection of that trend.
With the fresh capital, Zaro is positioned to expand its technology platform and scale its customer base as businesses move from AI experimentation toward operational deployment.
