Xpress Payment Solutions Pledges to Deepen Nigeria’s Cashless Economy at 10th Anniversary

Xpress Payment Solutions Limited, a CBN-licensed fintech operating under a premium Switching and Processing licence, has announced plans to ramp up deployment of secure, frictionless payment platforms designed to meet the growing demands of Nigeria’s digital economy.
The company said its next phase of growth will be anchored on building smarter payment options that remove barriers for underserved businesses and individuals across the country.
The declaration was made by the firm’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Wale Olayisade, in a statement released ahead of the company’s landmark anniversary. The celebrations are packaged under the theme “Xpress @10: A Decade of Innovation, A Future of Possibilities,” marking ten years since the company first entered Nigeria’s competitive domestic payments space in 2016.
“Our 10-year milestone represents far more than a corporate anniversary; it is a celebration of innovation, partnerships, trust, and the transformative power of technology,” Olayisade stated. “Reaching this point is a clear testament to the resilience of our team and the unwavering trust placed in us by millions of Nigerians who rely on our platforms daily.”
Operating as a transaction switcher, payment solution service provider, and non-bank acquiring agent, Xpress Payments has established itself as a key player supporting critical financial infrastructure, including complex electronic collections and disbursements for both corporate and public sector clients.
The announcement comes at a time when Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem is under pressure to move beyond growth milestones and demonstrate deeper resilience. Tech industry analysts note that the next decade of digital financial services will require more sophisticated security systems and intelligent transaction routing to withstand increasing competition and shifting macroeconomic conditions.
As part of the anniversary programme, the company has outlined a series of community-focused activities, including a corporate social responsibility initiative targeting sustainable regional development and a public lecture bringing together industry stakeholders to discuss emerging challenges in financial inclusion and automated revenue collection.
The celebrations are scheduled to culminate in a corporate gala night in Lagos, designed to honour financial ecosystem partners, regulatory bodies, and engineering teams that have supported the platform’s decade-long journey.
Looking ahead, Olayisade reaffirmed the firm’s strategic direction: “As Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, the payments industry will remain central to overall economic development. Our focus will stay sharply fixed on building robust, disruptive solutions that empower merchants, support critical government revenue initiatives, and structurally improve access to formal financial services.”
