Video understanding AI platform TwelveLabs has launched Pegasus 1.5, its most ambitious model yet. The release takes video content, historically one of the most opaque data formats, and turns it into structured, queryable, time-coded metadata through a single API call.
The core capability is Time Based Metadata generation. Users define a schema that reflects what matters in their domain. Then, Pegasus 1.5 autonomously processes the video and returns structured data that matches that schema, with timestamps. As a result, a sports broadcaster can segment every dunk by a specific player, a marketer can track every logo appearance, and a content creator can auto-chapterize a long video for YouTube. The applications are immediate and practical.
According to TwelveLabs CEO Jae Lee’s launch statement on Product Hunt, Pegasus 1.5 delivers 30% better performance than Gemini 3 Pro, 3.1 Pro, and 3 Flash on segmentation tasks. Moreover, it supports two-hour videos, which is more than double what most competing models can handle. That long-form capability addresses one of the biggest gaps in enterprise video workflows.
