Anthropic’s $65B Series H Pushes Valuation Near $1 Trillion
The AI race just got a lot more expensive. Anthropic has announced a massive $65B Series H funding round, catapulting its post-money valuation to a staggering $965 billion less than a hair’s breadth from the trillion-dollar mark.
The Anthropic $65B Series H funding round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, Iconiq Capital, and XN co-leading. The deal also includes $15 billion in previously committed investments from hyperscalers, among them a $5 billion contribution from Amazon.
Claude’s Rise Is Driving Investor Confidence
With this raise, Anthropic has now overtaken OpenAI which closed a $110 billion round at an $840 billion valuation in February as the most valuable private AI company in the world. That’s a remarkable turn in a rivalry that has defined the generative AI era.
The timing is telling. Just three months ago, Anthropic raised $30 billion at a $380 billion valuation in a Series G. Its valuation has now more than doubled in that short span. Since its 2021 founding, the company has raised nearly $144 billion in total, according to Crunchbase.
Revenue is keeping pace with the hype. Anthropic says its annualised run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier this month, fuelled by rapid enterprise adoption of its Claude AI models. CFO Krishna Rao noted in a company blog post that the Anthropic $65B Series H funding round will help the company “serve historic demand,” advance frontier research, and expand Claude into more enterprise workflows, including Claude Code and its Cowork product.
For investors, the message is clear: the AI infrastructure wars are far from over, and Anthropic is betting it can lead them.
