Fintech Week London Revamps Festival Format to Reinforce London’s Global Leadership

Fintech Week London is set to return with an expanded city-wide festival format under new leadership, with the clear aim of reinforcing London’s position as the world’s premier fintech hub.

The relaunch is being spearheaded by Fintech Fringe, with strategic backing from the UK Department for Business and Trade and London & Partners. The updated event format is projected to draw over 1,500 founders, investors, financial institutions, policymakers, and regulators to the capital.

The timing is deliberate. Data from Dealroom‘s latest global tech ecosystem index confirms London as the world’s number one fintech ecosystem, home to 137 unicorns with a combined enterprise value of $714 billion. Fintech Week London is being repositioned to match that stature, not just celebrate it.

The city-wide model will enable smaller companies and emerging communities to host their own localized events, giving the broader ecosystem direct access to a larger audience. The Fintech Times is on board as the official media partner for the revamped event.

The event’s core theme, “Growth with Agency”, will drive programming that tackles the practical forces currently shaping the sector: how artificial intelligence is reshaping competitive advantage, the role of regulation in growth strategies, and the converging worlds of fintech, crypto, and payments.

Calypso Harland, founder of Fintech Fringe, said London needs a dedicated platform that reflects the ambitious, practical, and international reality of the people building the next generation of financial technology. Harland said the event serves to rally the entire ecosystem together to demonstrate exactly why the city remains built to create market champions.

The relaunch follows Fintech Fringe’s merger with Fintech Week London, building on a model that has seen the standalone festival triple in size since its inception. Emma Banymandhub, CEO of The Payments Association, stressed the urgency of the convergence agenda. Banymandhub said that bridging historically parallel sectors like crypto, payments, and traditional fintech is essential, and that cross-ecosystem collaboration will drive better long-term innovation outcomes for the entire industry.

With global competition for fintech dominance intensifying, Fintech Week London’s reboot sends a clear signal, London is not sitting still.
