Gemini Now Takes Notes for You in Google Meet
Google just made it a lot easier to stop juggling your keyboard and your conversation at the same time. The company has officially launched its Take notes for me feature in Google Meet, rolling it out today for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers on both web and mobile, across select languages.
The feature does exactly what it sounds like. When enabled, Gemini takes notes for you in Google Meet by working quietly in the background, transcribing the conversation and pulling out a summary along with key action items. No more scrambling to capture what was said or who agreed to do what before the call ends.
Once the meeting wraps up, notes are automatically saved to a Google Doc in your Drive, and you get an email recap with the summary and action items ready to go. To activate it during a call, you simply click the pencil icon at the top of the Meet window. You can also switch it on permanently under Meeting records in your Google Meet settings. All participants are notified when the feature is running.
The Gemini Take Notes for Me capability is available now for meetings hosted by eligible subscribers, including certain Google Workspace business customers. Google says the tool works whether you are tracking next steps in a neighborhood meeting or gathering client requests for a catering order, keeping you organized without pulling your attention away from the discussion.
