Neura Robotics Raises $1.4 Billion for AI Humanoid Robot Expansion
German startup Neura Robotics has closed a Series C funding round worth up to $1.4 billion, cementing its position as Europe’s most-funded humanoid robotics company. The round marks a major milestone in the global race to deploy AI humanoid robot technology at scale.
The financing was led by stablecoin issuer Tether Holdings and draws in some of the biggest names in tech and industry. Backers include NVIDIA, Amazon, Qualcomm, German industrial giant Robert Bosch GmbH, auto supplier Schaeffler AG, and the European Investment Bank. The full disbursement of funds remains contingent on Neura hitting predefined performance milestones.
Building Robots That Work in the Real World
Neura’s founder and CEO, David Reger, made clear the company’s ambitions extend well beyond Europe. “The future of AI will not only live on screens,” he said. “It will move, interact, learn and work beside us in the real world.” Reger challenged the long-held assumption that world-class AI infrastructure companies can only emerge from Silicon Valley, pointing to Neura’s rise as proof that engineering talent and vision can compete globally.
The Metzingen-based company plans to use the capital to scale global deployment of its AI humanoid robot fleet, expand production and delivery capacity, and accelerate next-generation physical AI research. Its flagship 4NE-1 robot is expected to begin volume shipments by late 2026.
The raise arrives amid a record year for robotics investment. According to Dealroom, robotics companies have collectively raised $55.8 billion so far in 2026 nearly double the previous annual record as investors race to back AI systems capable of operating in the physical world.
