Quick Read:
- Redtech named in the Payments category of CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026
- One of only 11 African companies on the 500-strong global list
- List compiled by CNBC and Statista from over 3,500 companies worldwide
- Redtech has processed about ₦45.84 trillion (US$33.21 billion) via its RedPay platform
- Over 55,000 RedPay POS terminals now deployed across African markets
Redtech, the Heirs Holdings-backed fintech company, has landed a place on CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 list, cementing its status as one of Africa’s standout payment infrastructure providers. The company was recognised in the Payments category, joining just 11 African businesses selected for this year’s edition.
The ranking, put together by CNBC and Statista, is now in its fourth year and sifts through more than 3,500 fintech companies worldwide to arrive at a final list of 500. It’s built as a data-driven benchmark, spotlighting firms that are pushing financial services forward through technology, innovation, and scalable digital solutions, and Redtech’s inclusion on CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 list places it firmly among that group.
What makes the recognition notable is how far Redtech has travelled. The company started life as a straightforward payments processor and has since grown into a full-scale financial infrastructure provider, powering the systems businesses rely on to collect, process, reconcile, disburse, and manage money across African markets. Its flagship platform, RedPay, now covers payment acceptance, digital banking, and merchant infrastructure, including smart POS terminals and payment gateways.
The numbers back up the growth story. Since launch, RedPay has processed roughly ₦45.84 trillion (about US$33.21 billion) in transaction value. On the ground, the company has rolled out more than 55,000 RedPay POS terminals, supporting merchants across hospitality, energy, banking, fintech, retail, utilities, and enterprise services.
This isn’t Redtech’s first big nod of the year either. The CNBC and Statista recognition comes shortly after the company was named on the Financial Times’ “Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies 2026” list, where it also ranked among the continent’s top 15 fastest-growing fintech firms, a strong signal that Redtech’s momentum is being noticed well beyond Nigeria’s borders.
