South Park Commons (SPC), a community and investment firm focused on early-stage founders, has announced the launch of SPC Fund IV, a new $575 million investment fund aimed at supporting entrepreneurs from the earliest stages of building a company through later phases of growth.
The announcement made by Aditya Agarwal, a partner at SPC, who said the new fund increases the firm’s total assets under management to $2 billion on X. He noted that the fund reflects SPC’s long-term belief that successful companies are built by exceptional people, often before they have a fully developed business idea.
According to Agarwal, SPC’s approach is based on giving founders time to research, experiment, and refine their ideas before launching a startup. He also emphasized the importance of surrounding ambitious founders with a strong community and allowing them to pursue ideas they truly believe in rather than rushing to market.
Since its launch a decade ago, SPC says it has built a community of more than 1,200 technologists and has backed companies including Baseten, Gamma, Render, Goodfire AI, Luma Labs, and Profound.
With Fund IV, SPC says it will continue investing in founders at the earliest stages while also supporting portfolio companies well beyond their initial launch, as advances in artificial intelligence and lower technology costs create new opportunities for innovation.
