Workspot Joins Akamai Partner Program to Power Cloud PCs

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Enterprise virtual desktops are getting a serious upgrade. Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) announced on June 4, 2026 that Workspot has joined the Akamai Qualified Compute Partner Program as an independent software vendor (ISV). In other words, the Workspot Akamai Cloud PC partner program is now live, and it is aimed squarely at enterprises stuck on ageing VDI systems.

So, what does this mean in practice? Workspot’s enterprise-grade VDI platform now runs natively on Akamai Cloud. As a result, organisations can migrate from legacy on-premises VDI to Akamai Cloud PC, a fully managed, enterprise-grade desktop as a service (DaaS) solution. The move gives IT teams a cleaner, faster path to the cloud.

The key advantage is proximity. Akamai Cloud PC uses the platform’s low-latency network to push high-performance computing closer to where workers actually sit. Additionally, the solution integrates with existing enterprise identity providers, security frameworks, and custom desktop images. Therefore, teams get a secure and consistent experience from day one, without rebuilding from scratch.

Subash Gopalkrishnan, CEO of Workspot, said the partnership delivers something genuinely new. He pointed to the combination of Workspot’s DaaS platform and Akamai’s global cloud as the reason organisations can now migrate from legacy infrastructure in weeks, not months. “Simpler to deploy, more secure, and built for the performance demands of today’s workforce,” he said.

Similarly, Zak Putnam, Akamai’s Area Vice President of Global Cloud Partnerships, welcomed the addition. He noted that Workspot’s inclusion expands what customers can access when modernising end-user computing. Because Workspot completed a rigorous qualification process, the solution is ready to deploy and scale across Akamai Cloud, the world’s most distributed platform for cloud computing, security, and content delivery.

Beyond this single partnership, the Workspot Akamai Cloud PC partner program sits inside a growing ecosystem. The Akamai Qualified Compute Partner Program brings together ISVs whose services are interoperable with Akamai’s cloud. Furthermore, these services can work independently or in combination. Consequently, customers can unlock both performance and cost benefits on a single global platform. For IT leaders managing distributed workforces, that kind of flexibility is increasingly hard to ignore. More details are available on the Akamai Technology Partner Program page.
