Borderless 2026: Meet Payments Veterans Joining the Lineup

Organizers of Borderless 2026, a conference hosted under “The Borderless Experience” banner by Condia in partnership with Africhange, have announced a fresh wave of speakers and sponsors set to headline the event, which will bring together founders, payment leaders, policymakers, and innovators shaping the future of payments across Africa.
Frank Atat to Speak on Digital Payments and Financial Access
Among the confirmed speakers is Frank Atat, a banking and payments veteran whose work sits at the intersection of design, finance, and technology. Atat built a strong technical foundation in banking and payment systems before transitioning into strategy and business development.
His expertise spans digital payments, digital transformation, ecosystem development, revenue diversification, business model innovation, and go-to-market strategy. At Borderless 2026, he is expected to share practical insights on payment systems, growth, and the broader digital transformation reshaping Nigeria’s financial services sector, with a particular focus on expanding access to digital financial services and developing credit options for Nigerian SMEs and MSMEs.
Sandra Israel-Ovirih Joins as Product Leadership Speaker
Also joining the speaker roster is Sandra Israel-Ovirih, a product leader with nearly a decade of experience building the infrastructure that moves money, and the systems that keep it safe.
Israel-Ovirih cut her teeth at Kora, where she rose from the company’s first Product Manager to Head of Product in just three years, scaling core payments products from zero to profitability across African markets. She went on to lead product for compliance, risk, and data platforms at Lead Bank, a US-regulated bank that powers many of the world’s leading fintechs, helping global fintech clients launch and scale safely.
She is currently building a new venture in stealth mode. At Borderless 2026, she is expected to draw on her experience in payments infrastructure, compliance, and cross-border product leadership.
Anchor Signs On as Booth Sponsor
On the sponsorship front, organizers confirmed that Anchor, a YC-backed company, will serve as a Booth Sponsor for the event. Anchor provides a simple, well-documented API, dashboard, and toolset for African businesses, with a stated mission of increasing access to financial choices through infrastructure that supports fair and inclusive financial products.
The company’s client base includes businesses such as Bujeti, Waza, and Zit Electronics, among others building the next generation of financial services on the continent.
